The Basic Rules For Badminton Played In UK

There are five basic rules to start in Badminton.  Each game starts off with a toss of a coin – which should be the simplest and least complicated methods to choose the starter.  At no time during the game should a player touch the net with either his racquet or body.  The chuttlecock should not be carried upon or come to rest on the racquet.  A player should never reach over the net to ht the shuttlecock.   A serve must carry cross court i.e. diagonally, to be valid.  During service, a plasyer should not touch any of the lines of the ourt unti the; server strikes the shuttlecosk.   A serve should always be hit underarm from below the waist.  A point is added to a player’s score as and when he wins a rally, ans he wins that point when he strikes the shuttlecock which the goes over the net and lands on the ground in the opponent’s half.  The most common fault is when a player fails to hit the shuttlecock hard enough to go ovef the net into the opponent’s  half, or it ands outside the boundary of the courts.  Each side can only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net.  Once hit the player must not strike the shutttlecock in a new movement or shot.  The shuttlecock hitting the ceiling is considered a fault.
